To celebrate the longest day of the year, jane iredale held a summer solstice event to discuss safe sun. Beauty bloggers and online editors gathered around a table at Serafina in NYC’s Upper East Side to lunch with the infamous Jane Iredale of jane iredale mineral makeup and Dermatologist, Dr. Bruce Katz.

“The sun is responsible for 80% of the signs of aging,” Iredale remarked. “Layering sunscreen and including it in your cosmetics is essential.”

In between bites and great conversation, Iredale announced that five of her products, which included SPF, were recognized by the Skin Cancer Foundation. Dr. Katz explained the importance of the recognition and went further into the issue of sun damage.

The five products that received recognition were Dream Tint, Amazing Base, Pure Pressed Powder, Lip Drink and Powder-Me SPF. They all went through rigorous testing and are now proudly labeled with the Skin Cancer Foundation seal on the packaging that enhances their safe sun credibility.
